The name Howard’s Cross shop is an indication of our first steps.
Howard was my son and needed employment, so we created some. Unfortunately, my son did not have the same enthusiasm that I had to for this enterprise, so after much prayer and hearing directly and powerfully from the Master, we continued with a name change, Christ Centered Symbols with the primary symbol being the cross.
All of this transpired over a number of years beginning in 2014.The original crosses were very rustic in character and 8” to 10” tall. God’s presence was felt from the very beginning. Being rustic crosses meant that the joinery would be a challenge. Here comes God. A white light appeared before me with two pieces of wood centered in it with joints cut in both pieces.
Then words were spoken that told me what to do. It looked complicated, but sounded simple. It was both. I set about following the instructions and after some time a cross was created. The joint worked perfectly and I still have that original cross. Along with the larger crosses, we began making smaller crosses that we termed “Pocket Crosses”.
These were unique crosses that were cut from small Eastern Red Cedar trees and captured the heart in the center of the cross.
The heart of red cedar is normally red, and to us this represents the blood of Christ on the cross. At this point the small crosses were a secondary item.
When God had encouraged us to go forward, He said, “Make the crosses and I will put the POWER in them and you instruct the person’s that receive the crosses to pick them up at least once every day and repeat, Thank you Jesus.”
We continued making the crosses and both giving to the persons who were dealing with health issues and other concerns as well. We had many people investing in the “Pocket Crosses” and giving them away as a personal ministry. At one point, a friend, who had just asked for more crosses, made a statement to me that “grabbed my attention”.
He said, “You will not believe the POWER in these small crosses.” I knew instantly that I had not fully appreciated God’s instruction about Him investing his POWER in all the crosses, not just the large ones. This meant we could eventually touch many more people because of the ability to produce the smaller crosses. A new course and a new focus was set.

We began some serious consultation with the Almighty on how to go about this. Sure enough, through Divine Inspiration, God gave us a design, using equipment that we mostly already had to make a highly productive machine. Glory be to God. We are presently making improvements to the original machine. During this time another friend started referring to what we were doing as a ministry because, by the grace of God, we were giving hope and the hope of healing to many people, so we evolved into “The Pocket Cross Ministry”. Again, we say, “Thank you Jesus.” Now we are undertaking an earthshaking project that only God can direct, Seeding the Planet with the Cross of Christ. Guide our every step, we pray!
